Became a Cattle Herding Pro

Who would’ve thought our Max — the same pup who once barked at his own reflection — would become a cattle herding pro? It all started on a weekend visit to Uncle Peter’s farm. Max was about a year old, full of energy and mischief, and had never even seen a cow before. At first, he was nervous, circling from a distance and tilting his head at the strange, slow-moving giants.

But something switched the moment he saw the sheepdog in action. Max watched, learned… and then decided to try it himself. No training, no plan — just instinct and determination. We held our breath as he took off into the field. To our amazement, he started circling the cattle just like the pros, low to the ground, eyes sharp, tail steady. Uncle Peter looked at us, eyebrows raised, and said, “You’ve got yourself a real working dog there.”

From that day on, Max had a new passion. Every visit to the farm, he got better — faster turns, sharper focus, and a proud little trot back to us when the job was done. He wasn’t just a family dog. He was a herder, a helper, and a little legend on four paws.
